Does anyone have any information about Joseph Eaglefield b. 1763 d. 1812. Married Ann Ensor. My connection is John Eaglefield b. 1859 married Hannah Sherratt b. 1868. They had 10 children & lived Swadlincote or Church Gresley

Hello Bertie, I have just had a quick delve into the Ancestry site with probably no more than you already have. Joseph born Hungerton 15/1/1763 mother Susannah, father Thomas. Married 16/10/1789 in Breedon and another Joseph born 14/1/1812 in Breedon (possibly a grandson?)with some more family activity in Breedon.
I'll have a bit more of a dig around later.
I grew up in Midway family name Cantrill and gained a lot of useful data from this site and probably more to come with Repton now available.
Ron.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I do have the same Joseph b. 1763. His father's name was Thomas but no d.o.b or spouse. Joseph had 7 siblings. William b. 1758 d.1815 ,Sarah b. 1760 d. 1830 , George b. 1767 , Susannah b. 1768 , James b.1770 , Elizabeth b. 1772 , Benjamin b. 1773. They were all born at Hungerton. My Joseph b. 1763 died 1812. He married Ann Ensor. My line comes down on his son's side. His son John b. 1797 married Mary Ault at Breedon, March 5 1821. Hope this helps

Hi Bertie, I have no interest in this beyond the challenge of the chase. My wife's male line, Shaw, originated in Breedon at about the same time and my father's Cantrill name traced back to a will dated 1640 in Repton and possibly a bit earlier so it is familiar territory. Very often useful snippets crop up when looking for something else so it is never a waste and it is a distraction from the activities of this dreadful virus. I am looking on the Ancestry site and no links have revealed anything of interest so far but I am happy to dig around for a while to try to get as much as possible. There are multiple records of similar names and dates but I think I got Thomas and Elizabeth for Joseph's parents. Early days yet. Ron.
