I am researching my family name Collier. I know that William Collier 1816 - 1888 and Frances Collier 1816 - 1889 (nee Hoskinson) lived in Burton on Trent and then moved to Newhall, Newhall being her birth place. They were purveyors of houses and were living on High Street. They had Children Eliza(1842-1866), George William(1843), Thomas henry (1844 -1911) and Mary Ann collier(1847). Arthur Collier (1850) also who died as an infant.
Eliza married a william walter marks, George william married an eliza, thomas henry married an elizabeth brearley and mary ann married a john kendrick. Does anyone have connections to these names? or perhaps any idea as to how i can advance my research. i am currently relying on ancestry as i klive inmanchester so getting to newhall is difficult. Any ideas or information would be gratefully recieved!!
I have found frances colliers burial record on this website, though she is recorded as francis. However she is in a single grave in st johns cemetry without william, so i am intrigued as to where he may be buried, i have also been informed that a grave in stapenhill cemetry matches his death certificate, but it is a public grave? curious? i have not yet been able to visit and confirm this but it looks likely to be accurate. thanks for looking

Just noticed your post in passing. I have just been looking at a murder trial report and a Henry Hoskison was sentenced to life for murder and deported to van Diemans Land on the MV Westmoreland (CON 33/1/11in the Tasmanian digitalised archive) in 1841 from Sheerness UK. He was convicted of murder in Derbyshire of the Earl of Chesterfields gamekeeper, near the village of Newhall. Not sure if he is yours but he was from Newhall
